Der Spatengang
After the winter hibernation, this year continues fresh with new releases, starting with the new project from Käppi'n Mies.
After the success of Hit Vol 1, Käpt’n Mies, aka André Meinlschmidt, is back with a new release: “Spatengang”, a genre-blending compilation now available digitally via Spheredelic. Originally released on vinyl, this digital version allows even more listeners to experience this unique project.
The idea behind Spatengang? A bold yet harmonious mix of catchy punk rock and smooth jazz elements. But instead of sticking to one defined sound, Käpt’n Mies keeps things fresh by inviting various singers with different vocal styles to contribute. The result: an album that defies easy categorization and constantly reinvents itself with each new voice. Anyone who listens can easily imagine a fictional movie scene of any genre to accompany each track—be it drama, action, or noir.
The name Spatengang was born spontaneously during an overnight bike tour—its meaning is left to the listener’s imagination. One thing is certain: Käpt’n Mies was especially delighted that his daughter Dawn once again provided the cover artwork, giving the album a deeply personal touch.
For vinyl enthusiasts, a limited number of original pressings are still available—just cover the shipping costs, and Käpt’n Mies will send a copy your way. But for now, it’s time to dive into Spatengang!
