NonMiPiacellCirco!“ or „Idon’tLikeTheCircus!“ is a two person music project by Matteo Preabianca and Liang Siqi with an interesting interactive approach. They provide 14 tracks along with poems to be read out alongside the music on „Conditioned Production“, even encouraging people to record themselves and send it to them so they can create even more with these recordings.

This albums theme is represented by different animals which currently are on the brink of extinction and a buddhist philosophy. The artists encourage the listener to really interact and find their own meaning in this format bending work. Sonically many different instruments and rythms are being used, with repeating percussion supporting those who recite or sing poems over the tracks. From piano to more unconventional or exotic instruments like the berimbau or thom ramman a wide range of sounds provide an interesting listening experience even if you decide against incorporating the poetry. The atmosphere on this album is at times somber, at other times hopeful always keeping an experimental edge.

Another important part of the work are the 12 animal paintings that were created for it. They depict fading images of endangered species, always with a small humanoid figure visible alongside them. The physical copies are for sale on a donation basis and the proceeds go towards animal welfare projects.
